An infrared photograph of a palm tree alley leading through a banana plantation on the island of Gomera
Walders Lane,
Memories of the UK. Can you put me through? This is from a small series of photographs of the disappearing phone-booths in the United Kingdom I took last August while travelling around the Peak District area.
Meet Prasanna. This is Asanka's brother whom I met during my trip to Sri Lanka last month. (See previous post).
Asanka runs a small cafe/restaurant/guesthouse just outside Ella, Sri Lanka together with his father and brother. He is a joyful, energetic, bubbly character and I couldn't resist asking to take his portrait. It turns out Asanka is becoming a quite well known person among travellers to Ella. Try Googling "Asanka" and "Ella" and you will see what I mean.
From a short series of portraits of people I met on a train during my travels on Sri Lanka.

I have returned from my travels to Sri Lanka. This is one of the shots I took there I would like to share with you. I took it on the walls of the fort of Galle, an ancient town on the South coast which dates back to the VOC-era. (The light in the tower is a flash I placed there....)
I just returned from the small town of Castillon la Bataille near Bordeaux, France, where I gave a photography course. The course went fantastically, so chances are I will give another course there perhaps next year.
This is one of the photographs I took wandering through the deserted backstreets of the town.
A jetty in Norway waiting for summer.
This is a long exposure taken somewhere outside the city of Tromsø, Norway.
I am not usually one for posting my pictures of sunsets. Cliché, cliché. Exceptions confirm the rule, so here is a sunset over the Gili islands, Indonesia. The Gili islands are a group of tiny islands (you can walk around them over the beach in about 1,5 hours.) just off the west coast of the island of Lombok, Indonesia. Two of the Gili islands have developed into a regular Ibiza party-island counterpart. The island stuck in the middle, Gili Meno, from which I took this picture, is still relatively quiet and peaceful.
After a long break, I am back to posting pictures on my blog.
I am just back from extended travels on the island of Bali, Indonesia. With a sidestep to Lombok to climb the Rinjani-volcano (second highest peak in Indonesia at 3.726 meters) and some relaxing on the Gili Meno island just next to Lombok.
We travelled extensively over the island of Bali, escaping most of the intensive tourism that goes on in the south part of the island. I will be posting some of my favorite pictures I took along the way.
This is an image of two boys fishing in the lake of Danau Beratan: one of the lakes on the top of the volcano of Bali. A long expsoure.
