Crabfishing

Another Long Exposure on the shores of Denmark. Father and daughter dropped a line to do some fishing; I presume crabfishing. Actually I was all set up to take a long exposure of the jetty when the two showed up and moved in to my frame. For some that would be a pain, for me they formed an extra bonus to the image.

I put the exposure on 30 seconds to completely smooth out the water.

Jetty

One of the photography techniques I enjoy a lot is Long Exposure. This is a jetty on the shores of Denmark.

Denmark has quite a bathing culture, summer ànd winter. Dipping (or skinny dipping) in the sea and relaxing on the jetty with friends or family is a common sight. Happy me that I chose a jetty to photograph with some people on it moving around a little to give just enough indication they were there.

I put the exposure on 30 seconds to completely smooth out the water.

Attic

After an absence of 3,5 years I am reviving the blog on my website to present my recent work.

I made this image together with Imre van den Bosch in the attic of an old empty house in my hometown of Utrecht which was up for sale at the time. It was a great opportunity to explore the character and vibe of the rooms and fit in our ideas

Imre van den Bosch is theatremaker, so finding interesting poses that tell a story in the deserted rooms of the house was a breeze.

Assisting me during the photoshoot was Joost Voets.
