Dance moves by Martina Orlandi and Paolo Yao Kouadio. A shot from our photoshoot collaboration in an old warehouse in Rotterdam last week.
This week sees the publication of the new brochure of Theater De Kom for the next theatre-season.
People who know my work will probably recognize the cover. I did a remake of my selfportrait for the brochure with Hamza Gaderi.
I am happy to say that in the brochure are three more photographs I took.
Thank you theater De Kom, and especially Elise, for the opportunity and the lovely collaboration we have.
One of the many great shots I took during the photoshoot with Martina Orlandi and Paolo Yao Kouadio in Rotterdam recently.
The mask is a creation of Wiktoria Czakon.

A portrait I took on-the-go during a photoshoot session with Paolo Yao Kouadio and Martina Orlandi yesterday.
Paolo is a professional dancer, currently dancing with the De Stilte dancegroup. Paolo and Martina asked me if I would take some pictures for their dance-portfolio. We had an inspiring photoshoot in an old warehouse in Rotterdam. I will post a few of the results soon.

The public library of Tromsø, Norway during the 'blue hour'.
I did the photography for a new humroristic and absurdistic play to be performed at the Tweetakt festival in Utrecht from 02 - 10 April 2016.
For information on the play check: www.tweetakt.nl/en/programma-2016/item-917/
The Arctic Church (Ishavskatedralen ) of Tromsø, officially named Tromsdalen Church is a masterpiece of form and light. I've heard say the most northern cathedral in the world and definitely worth a visit.
The church was built in 1969 and has a beautiful view over the Tromsø sound and the town of Tromsø.
This is the western side of the cathedral with its' organ.
Stunning beauty in all its' simplicity.
Short days, long nights in the arctic winter. This is a sundown sky when I was there last week.
A jetty in Norway waiting for summer.
This is a long exposure taken somewhere outside the city of Tromsø, Norway.

In the state our home, the world, planet earth, is in at the moment, it is a mesmerizing experience to stand outside in the dark on a snow covered field above the arctic circle and gaze up at the powerful show of northern lights. It seems as if the world is on fire without making a sound. The aurora borealis as I saw it in Tromsø, Norway.
A result from a nude photoshoot this week with a female model. The multiple arms can be seen as a symbol of prudishness, but also as a symbol strength, warmth and love/acceptance of oneself.

I have not been posting much lately, but that doesn't mean I have not been busy. Actually, busy is the word at the moment. There have been a lot of photography-projects and assignments going on recently and some exciting stuff coming up.
For one I am preparing a photography course in the south of France in May. There is still room for four participants if anyone is interested. Check out the website www.chez-castillon.com and this link for more information.
I am also working on organizing photography workshops this year for a small group of photographers. The first on the list is with smoke, fireworks and a model and the second will be with professional (ballet) dancers. All in/around Utrecht.
And there is more.
Today Art paid me a visit. Art does a lot of (fashion)model work and he wanted me to do some out-of-the-box photography with him. This is one of the results. The pose and lighting is inspired by a beautiful painting I saw a few months ago.

O.O.O.
I made a cinemagraph for a theatrical production titled O.O.O. by the HKU in Utrecht (University of Performing Arts).
A portrait I took of Ariane Kop, managing director of Theater De Kom in Nieuwegein.
We did a photoshoot outside on a roofterrace of the theatre, just before it started to rain.
