Damn good wine....

The next result of an "out-of-the-blue" photoshoot last Friday in Utrecht. See my previous posts here.

One of the ideas I had for the shoot on the yellow Chesterfield was for my model to be drinking some wine. This massive bottle (1,5 liter) was kindly sponsored by my good friend Jaap at WijnvanJaap.

I did the photoshoot in the office of www.pathe-thuis.nl, where I was kindly permitted use the space and the yellow Chesterfield.

Here is another result.

Yellow

The next result of an "out-of-the-blue" photoshoot last Friday in Utrecht. See my previous post here.

About two weeks ago I was cycling through my home town of Utrecht, when my eye caught sight of this amazing yellow Chesterfield couch standing in an office. I immediately got off my bike and went inside to ask if I might do a photoshoot with a model on the Chesterfield. The people at the company (www.pathe-thuis.nl) were very welcoming and friendly. After some explanation of my intentions the owner gave me permission to do the shoot.

Next I needed a model and immediately thought of Bente; we had been talking of doing a photoshoot together for a long time already and this seemed to be the right time to do it.

My good friend Wim Blom was so kind to be assistant to the shoot.

Here is one of the first results.

Feeling blue

I did an "out-of-the-blue" photoshoot yesterday in Utrecht.

Tattoo U

I am always keen to work on new ideas and concepts.

This is an idea I have been brooding on for a time and here is a first experiment. It is not quite there yet where I want it but I think it is already quite presentable.

Let's call it temporary tattooing or virtual bodypainting. This is not achieved by photoshop but the real thing! And no, it is not a tattoo. Things you can do with a light source....

Thank you to my model Michiel van Ieperen, who actually came along for a Mad Max-inspired photoshoot, but we started off on a whim trying out this idea.

Michiel

A new year is upon us. I hope you all had good year and have now started on an even better one!

For me 2015 was an amazing year! Thanks to all those who supported me, who helped along or participated in my photoshoots. And, of course, thanks to all my clients for trusting in me.

I have many plans for the new year and hope to further develop my skills and photography-style.

I have been so busy since my last post on this blog that I haven't had time to show you some of my new work.

This is a portrait I took of model and actor Michiel van Ieperen.

London blurred lines

Last week I went to London for a few days to see my good friend David Headley who owns Goldsboro Books in Cecil Court. I had four of my photographs with me which are now on exhibition there.

During one of our evening outings, walking Davids' dog Mia, I took my camera along and decided to take some long exposure with deliberate movement. This is one of the nice photographs that came out of this.

Wash away

The question is: is this tree being washed away or washed ashore?

On the island of Gili Meno, Indonesia, there is a short stretch of beach where a dozen or so trees seem to be clinging on to life not being able to choose between land or sea. Taking a long exposure results in milky sea and blurred movement of the leaves and branches.
